Message from the PresidentUpcoming Holiday Schedule Everyone: The end of the Fall Semester and holiday season is rapidly approaching, and I know that many of you will be making plans to be with family and friends during the holiday break when OCCC is closed. This year, OCCC will close at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23rd, and reopen on Monday morning, January 4th, 2010. For our staff, this revised schedule provides an additional day of holiday leave. I hope that this early announcement will assist you in your holiday planning. There is much to be done before the end of the semester. I trust that all goes well in the next few weeks and that we can look forward with anticipation to a restful and joyful break between semesters and through the holidays. Sincerely, Message from the PresidentInformation regarding H1N1 Flu Dear OCCC Faculty and Staff: OCCC continues to monitor the impact that the H1N1 Flu is having on the OCCC community. Information from the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) indicates that number of new cases of H1N1 flu is declining in Oklahoma. The faculty, staff, and student absence rates have been declining. While the news is positive, the OSDH reports that the H1N1 flu continues to be widespread in Oklahoma. Therefore, I encourage you to continue taking precautions to prevent infection and spread of the flu virus. At this time, OCCC is not scheduled to provide a vaccination program on campus. However, vaccination sites throughout the state are still being scheduled. Presently the priority group to be vaccinated has been expanded to include individuals between the ages of 18 and 24 years.
