Minimum Computer Standards for New Purchases

Desktop Computer (Approximate Cost: $1,800.00)

  • Expansion Slots ­ Minimum of three available PCI slots and 1 AGP slot

  • 4x Accelerated Graphics Port (AGP) slot. AGP Video Card with 32 MB Video RAM
  • CD-RW / 4x DVD+RW/+R combo - read/write CD drive
  • 64 Bit SoundBlaster, or compatible, sound card with speakers or headphones
  • Keyboard ­ Enhanced 104 key Windows style
  • Microsoft Optical Mouse (2 button with wheel)

The following software product standards are listed to communicate to the employees of the College which software will be supported as institutional standards and to provide for compatibility of corporate data between users. Users must evaluate the capability of their hardware if considering certain software such as Windows. Additional software may be purchased by offices for specific needs, but will not be supported institutionally.
